Vocal Health Projects

I learned about Vocology purely due to learning about vocal health. As I’ve gone through university, I’ve developed different projects disseminating information about vocal hygiene. This page documents some of the ways I’ve done that.

2023-2025: Notion Vocal Health Page

While working as a officer for a local Theatre group on-campus, I designed this Notion page. This acted as a database of topics for vocal hygiene, warm-ups, and scientific-backed vocal health products I disseminated from 2023-2025 for student directors and other officers. While it’s now defunct, it acted as a knowledge hub for what I learned about vocal hygeine.

Fall 2024: Vocal Healthcare Kits

I used the information I gathered on my Notion page along with additional research to create vocal health pamphlets for UT Austin’s Concert Chorale. After double-checking the pamphlet with a Speech-Pathologist, I included a pair of coffee straws for SOVT exercises and a sucker to assist in voice rest. I handed these to choir members at the beginning of their Fall 2024 tour.

What I’m working on now…

As apart of my Senior Capstone project, I’ve designed a 30-minute presentation with my supervisor’s assistance covering different vocal health topics. This presentation will be presented to various local choirs in the Austin-area as apart of my Capstone.
